Book clubs

Do you belong to any?

I've never found any in my area to join, granted there are some at the library I think but it seems every time I check it out online it's something that wouldn't interest me at all. The subject of the book or the genre itself, I mean.

So after much prodding by someone on a forum I belong to I joined the book club there this month.

The book selected for reading and discussion is Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner.

I'm loving the book. Today the first question was posted to get the discussion going.

And I'm freaking! I am over thinking my answer trying to find more, trying to wrap my brain around the question, figure out if my answer is the correct answer, and just think I don't have it in me to discuss books. *Sigh* I love to read, I love to talk about them after I've read the whole thing but this in part thing I think is hard for me LOL!! Now I know why I've been leery of really joining a book club. I'll continue on with it but will wonder aloud to myself the whole time how stupid my answer sounds, how far off I am on the subject etc.

Such. A. Nerd. Am. I.

You are worrying about nothing! Seriously, the book club is just for fun. No one is analyzing anything...trust me! We just like to discuss the same book together. There are absolutely no right or wrong answers.

Oh...one more thing. LOL....there is no such thing as "far off the subject". Well, I guess if you suddenly started discussing the election or something...but if it's related to the book, it's fair game. :)

Hi there -- I"m also a huge Jennifer Weiner fan (which is how I found your blog). I was wondering if you wouldn't mind checking out my brand-new website at www.sarahpekkanen.com ? I'm also a novelist who just signed a publishing contract with Jennifer Weiner's editor, so I'm reaching out to fellow book lovers to get some early feedback! I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!

Hey Jennifer, I'm in 2 book clubs. 1 is strictly Christian Fiction, we just finished Ted Dekker's "Saint", and it meets every 2-3 months. The other is just a girls club, really an excuse to go out once a month.. right now I'm reading Twilight. Next month we'll be reading the autobiography of Tori Spelling.. just for fun.lol
